ROPE ACCESS
Highly Trained & Experienced Rope Access Teams Deliver Safety & Speed
ROPE ACCESS SOLUTIONS
ROPE ACCESS
MIG delivers integrated rope access capabilities as needed across our complete services portfolio, enabling faster, safer, and more economical project and services delivery.
Many facilities have vessels and equipment requiring maintenance or repairs in difficult-to-access locations. By utilizing our own, highly trained rope access teams, MIG has complete control over training, safety standards—and schedules. Our teams can be ready as needed for both regular and emergency service, including confined space rescue.
All our rope access teams follow SPRAT (Society of Rope Access Technicians) standards and work procedures and are monitored for compliance to ensure optimal safety and performance.
Our rope access capabilities support both the safety and speed with which workers can perform their work in difficult locations - many times with minimal impact on other operations in nearby areas.

What Is Rope Access?Rope access requires specialized training and equipment including rope, carabiners, anchors, and other rigging hardware that allows workers to reach locations that are otherwise difficult to access. Workers are also outfitted with protective gear including protective footwear, helmets, and gloves.
In many cases rope access replaces the use of scaffolding, which can be costly and time-consuming to rent, assemble, and later dismantle. Rope access is considered the optimal solution, facilitating safety and speed.
The primary objective when using rope access methods is to plan, manage and carry out the work with minimal accidents, incidents or dangerous occurrences, i.e. to ensure a safe system of work is maintained at all times, and with no damage to property or harm to the environment. -
BenefitsThe advantage of using rope access methods mainly lies in the safety and speed with which workers can get to or from difficult-to-access locations and then carry out their work—often with minimal impact on other operations and the nearby area.
Another significant benefit is that the combination of the total man-hours and the level of risk for a particular task is often lower when compared with other means of access—such as scaffolding—and their associated risks and costs. -
SPRATMIG utilizes SPRAT standards and work procedures which our team members are required to follow at all times.
Teams are monitored for compliance throughout their work to ensure that a safe system of work is established and maintained throughout every project.
This sets MIG Rope Access Technicians apart from rope access companies that are not subject to such rigorous standards.

Where is Rope Access Used?Rope access was developed in the off-shore industry. It was quickly recognized that there were many on-shore applications for work placement techniques that were safe, environmentally friendly and not intrusive.
In addition to the industrial and process facilities where we perform our work, rope access technicians can be seen all around the world at work on great iconic buildings, both old and new, as well as your local city center,.
The ease with which rope access technicians can safely apply themselves to working at height allows architects and engineers to continue designing and constructing even more challenging structures and buildings which prohibit the use of other forms of access.
